The day has finally come. Let the 30 hours of travelling begin. One day I'll be in Sydney - the next - MIAMI!
How am I feeling?
Like any person in my position would be. I’m about to fly to the other side of the world, where I know no one, my accent lets me stick out like a sore thumb and I have no clue what I’m about to really do (what living on a ship as part of a crew is really like!)
I’M SO EXCITED!!!!
Well…not just excited – I feel like a cake – there’s a lot of things stirring up on the inside right now. Best way to describe it is kind of like a recipe:
· 2 cups of nervous butterflies swirling around
· 3 scoops of bubbling excitement
· ½ spoon of anxious thoughts being away from my family
· Just the perfect amount of confidence with the thought that somehow I am exactly where I am meant to be
If you know me, you know I love trying new things. What an opportunity to literally dive head first into the world! It’s exactly what I love about travelling – immersing myself. There are so many new cultures, ways of life to experience, people to meet, places to see – I can’t wait to start!
Before I left, I created a video on my Top 3 Tips to surviving a long plane trip - make sure to check it out!!!

I’m writing this throughout my journey from Sydney to Miami. American Airlines has just touched down in LA so I’m officially shouting "G'day USA!"
What an adventure I am embarking upon. Yes, I really speak like that.
The flight was WAY better than I could've imagined - I picked the lucky straw and somehow managed a seat in the middle of the plane - not too far from the bathrooms, and right in the middle of the plane - WITH NO ONE EITHER SIDE OF ME! That's right - three whole seats to myself. I loved every second - I mean, I felt a little bad for other passengers cramped in their one seat, but I needed sleep and I (like the person in front of me who also picked the lucky straw) stretched out and slept like a baby.

Tomorrow is my first official day. I feel like a kid going to their first day of high school. But instead, I am a professional singer-songwriter from Sydney about to take up the role of a Piano Bar Entertainer for the Carnival Sensation which docks in MIAMI!
