April's Top Picks

It is the end of April & we are officially into May! So below are the top picks of my favourite songs for last month. Let me know in the comment section below if you agree with my top picks or if you have a favourite new song ♥

3. Coming in at number three (yes, I'm counting down), is Shawn Mendes "In My Blood".

One thing I really liked about this song (before I even get to the music itself) is the title. Something used so commonly ('it isn't in my blood to do *insert action here*) is such a powerful idea to write from or title your song. So I was drawn to this song before I even heard it.

Now to the music - the sensitivity in his voice is so genuine and raw - so AUTHENTIC! The music compliments so well with the lyrics - it's like a moment in time where he is reading a letter he has written to himself and while speaking it out loud, this melody is playing underneath (if only my life had background music to accompany my emotions - it would feel like a movie! The only time I ever really feel that is when I'm belting out my jams in the car - tell me I'm not alone in this!)

I loved this song . 10/10 enjoyment

2. Second to best this month is Fanny Lumsden's "Elastic Waistband"

If you haven't heard of Fanny Lumsden, stop what you're doing and go & check her out now!

Her latest release is funny & relatable . Australian country music should be proud- and evidently it is - CMC made it their pick of the week! Fanny's voice is beautiful and smooth. I love the echoing 'Ooh's' at the beginning of the song and throughout - so catchy - I couldn' t help bopping my head along to the music! A quirky love song that makes me want to sit on the couch and eat some popcorn.

I love the music video too - Fanny, you are beautiful, even in sweat pants!

1. Lucky number one, can you guess it?

You probably can. It's #ArianaGrande "No Tears Left To Cry".

A beautiful song from her upcoming album #Sweetener (side note: if this is a preview of her album, oh my goodness! it's going to be good.....) #NoTearsLeftToCry has topped countries around the world and I can't get it out of my head (doesn't help that everytime I turn on the radio, I end up singing along to it all over again.) The voice is sweet - the melisma's are perfectly executed. The #musicvideo is even better - twists and turns and so many symbols (yes, I analysed the music video and watched others analyse the video - #proudmusiclover ) I'll only tell you one - the umbrella could be a reference to the first music video where #Ariana used an umbrella. The evolution of this very talented singer is inspirational and her song is amazing to listen to!

10/10 all the feels.
